- The 24 Hours of Dubai traditionally mark the start of the endurance season.
- The race was first held in 2006 and has since developed into one of the most important GT endurance races outside Europe.
- The desert location causes large temperature differences between day and night, which has a major impact on tyres, brakes and race strategy.
- The race is not part of the World Endurance Championship.
- The lap record set by Thomas Preining in 2025 stands at 1:57.136 minutes.
