- The track serves as a replacement for the Italian race in Monza, as the change of dates in the 2024 calendar meant that there was no more space available. Due to its great popularity, Imola will remain on the calendar permanently.
- It last welcomed top-class sportscar racing in 2011, when it was a round of the single-season International Le Mans Cup.
- The WEC lap record set by Antonio Fuoco in 2024 is 1:31.794.
