- The planned comeback of the race in the 2019 season failed shortly due to uncertain financing.
- The 2024 season saw a comeback after an absence of ten years. This time, series partner Rolex is one of the parties securing the funding.
- André Lotterer’s WEC lap record from 2014 stands at 1:18.367.
