WEC Magazin becomes Endurance Archive

The WEC-Magazin is transforming into the Endurance Archive and will preserve the history of sportscar racing in future.

Our passion for endurance racing is what brought us, Dominic and Tobias, to set up WEC-Magazin all the way back in 2013. Our mission was to shine a light on the fascinating world of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) for fans all over the world. After over a decade of hard work and solid development, we are delighted to announce the start of a new chapter in our story: Endurance Archive.

The name change reflects the evolution of our vision. We are more than simply a news-based website covering a single series; over the years we have built up a comprehensive archive of endurance motorsport. We want to continue to offer this unique digital legacy as endurance racing continues to develop.

What’s changing:

  • Our name: WEC-Magazin becomes Endurance Archive
  • Our focus: From brief news items to deeper dives into the world of sportscars
  • Our coverage: Expansion to include related endurance series, not just the WEC

What’s not changing:

  • Our passion for endurance motor racing
  • Our core focus on the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans
  • Our commitment to free content with no paywall

Our archive: continuing the legacy

We want Endurance Archive to become a one-stop shop for all the data and information you need about the world of sportscar racing. There is already a wealth of photos, articles and podcasts to discover. But we intend to make it even easier to find out more about this form of motorsport. We will be focusing on the rich history and heritage of the sport, bringing some of the stories that make sportscar racing so special to life. We won’t be editing or amending anything that has appeared on the site over the past 12 years. Instead we will preserve it as a form of time capsule of the WEC’s history.

Our archive is open to all! We can be your first port of call if you have any questions or need any more information about endurance racing. The FIA WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans will remain at the core of Endurance Archive. But we will be opening our doors to other relevant endurance content. We have already begun expanding and integrating our coverage of the European Le Mans Series and intend to expand our archive coverage even further moving forward, following other series with the same level of passion and depth as with the WEC.

Our promise to our community

With our transition to Endurance Archive, we are reaffirming our commitment to endurance racing. We will stay true to our original goal of providing a gateway to this fascinating sport that is available to all. No-one will be forced to pay for any of our website content. This knowledge and information should be accessible to everyone.

So, we would like to invite you all to become a part of this exciting new era. Delve into the past, present and future of endurance racing with Endurance Archive – your new digital platform for everything to do with speed and adrenaline.
