Alpine celebrates historic WEC victory at Fuji

Alpine wins the 2025 6 Hours of Fuji

Alpine drivers Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg and Paul-Loup Chatin win the penultimate race of the 2025 FIA WEC season at Fuji. Peugeot and Porsche complete the podium in Japan.

With a lead of over seven seconds, Charles Milesi crossed the finish line of the 6 Hours of Fuji as the delighted winner. Together with his teammates Ferdinand Habsburg and Paul-Loup Chatin, he secured victory in the 100th WEC race in history and took the first Hypercar triumph for the Alpine A424.

Behind the jubilant winners, Peugeot drivers Paul di Resta, Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Éric Vergne finished second, confirming the performance of the 9X8 from COTA once again. Third place went to reigning world champions Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor in the #6 Porsche, who fought their way through the field from 17th on the grid after a poor qualifying result.

Start to the 6h Fuji 2025.

The race at the foot of Mount Fuji left drivers, fans and teams with little time to catch their breath. After starting the race from the front row, the Cadillac team dominated proceedings for around two hours. Yellow flags and safety car deployments ensured that the gaps were repeatedly closed. After an unusual crash by BMW driver Raffaele Marciello on cold tyres, the #93 Peugeot took the lead halfway through the race. However, thanks to clever pit stop tactics, the #35 Alpine was able to take the lead in the final hour and win the anniversary race.

Fourth place went to the #5 Porsche of Andlauer and Jaminet. Behind them, the #94 Peugeot team celebrated a strong fifth place, ahead of the #009 Aston Martin, which achieved its best result of the season with Marco Sørensen and Alex Riberas. Toyota and Ferrari remained well behind the leading group at Fuji.

LMGT3: Fight to the finish line

In the LMGT3 class, the protagonists once again fought an exciting battle over the entire six-hour race distance. After spectacular pit stops in the last five minutes before the end of the race, Alessio Rovera in the #21 Ferrari crossed the finish line in the lead, but was classified second due to a 5-second penalty. Victory therefore went to the #81 Corvette team of Charlie Eastwood, Tom van Rompuy and Rui Andrade. The #31 BMW completed the hard-fought podium in the LMGT3 category.
