The ELMS ended its summer break with a 90-minute free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.
In preparation for Sunday’s 4-hour race, Alexander Quinn #20 was the fastest driver in FP1. With a time of 2:01.091, the Briton in his LMP2 Pro/Am-class car placed ahead of the fastest driver in the LMP2 category.
The quickest driver in the LMP2 class was Nick Yelloly in the Inter Europol Competition #43. Behind him, two-time winner Daniel Juncadella #18 set the third-fastest practice time. With a lap of 2:01.595, the #77 from Proton Competition secured fourth place overall and second in the LMP2 Pro/Am standings, ahead of TDS Racing #29.

In the LMP3 class, Team Virage #8 finished the first free practice session at the top of the field. The second-fastest time was secured by CLX Motorsport #17 in the identical Ligier JS P325-Toyota. Griffin Peebles completed the top three in his car from WTM by Rinaldi Racing #12.
With a time of 2:17.981, McLaren driver Wayne Boyd #23 set the fastest lap early on in the LMGT3 category. Local hero Alessio Picariello finished the Friday session in second position with his Porsche #60. Third place was secured by the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 #74 from the Kessel Racing team, followed by the sister car #57 and the GR Racing Ferrari #86.

The action continues on Saturday, 23rd August, with FP2 and qualifying. The 4-hour race starts on Sunday at 13:00 and can be watched on a free livestream. All results from FP1 can be found here.
