This coming weekend (26–28 September), the FIA WEC will be stopping off in Japan. The 6 Hours of Fuji is the penultimate race of the season, and the battle for the world championship crown is entering its final phase.
After the spectacular races in São Paulo and Texas, interest in the remaining races is high. Here is our overview of how you can follow the FIA WEC live in Fuji.
The action begins on Thursday
The first two free practice sessions on Thursday will not be broadcast live. However, fans can follow the lap times and action on the track via the official live timing on fiawec.tv. The first free practice session starts at 04:00 and the second at 08:30 (both CEST).
As usual, the series will broadcast the third free practice session live and free of charge on its official YouTube channel. The one-hour session will start at 3:20 a.m. CEST on Friday, 27 September.
Qualifying and race
Qualifying and Hyperpole will take place on Friday. Qualifying for the LMGT3 class will start at 07:20 CEST, with Hyperpole following at 07:40 CEST. This will be followed by qualifying (08:00 CEST) and Hyperpole (08:20 CEST) for the Hypercars.
The green light for the 6-hour race at Fuji will be given on Saturday at 4:00 a.m. and will last until 10:00 a.m. CEST.
Streaming services: Watch everything in full length
For those who want to watch the qualifying and the entire race live, there are various streaming providers. The easiest way to watch the FIA WEC races in full length is to use providers such as FIA WEC TV or Discovery+.
These providers usually broadcast the sessions in full. In the USA and Canada, Max is another option, but it is a paid service. For fans in Austria, ORF TVthek is a free alternative, but only with English commentary. A detailed list of all providers can be found in our streaming overview.
TV broadcasts: 6 Hours of Fuji on free-to-air television
Due to the time difference and the long race distance, the 6 Hours of Fuji is not always broadcast in full on television. In Germany, Eurosport 1 and Sport 1 are expected to show excerpts, while fans in Austria can watch the race on ORF Sport+. Further information on broadcasts in Europe and the USA can be found in our TV & streaming overview.
